You have been working in a hat factory since 1900, when you were eight years old. Now you are experienced enough to run one of the sewing machines. You don’t earn as much as older workers, but your family needs every penny you bring home. Still, the long hours make you very tired. One day you hear that people are trying to stop children from doing factory work. They think that children should be at school or playing.
Would you be for or against this
social reform? Why? |
Of course I will be agreeing this social reform because such of a opportunity like this is very rare. And I agree that children should have the right to get education because it is not fair when grown up have education and the younger one does not have when they eventually will become grown ups
ReplyDeleteRubaiya812- I am for this social reform, because if children learns and play and when they grow up they can be anything they want and if they play they can also meet new people, and be friends, also they can own their own company.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and would like to add that if kids dont go to school at their age then when they grow up they wont be able to read or write which could affect their lives.

i would be against this social reform because my family needs the money to leave starvation. ony if they give me a new job, i will go for them. -amy803
ReplyDeleteI agree with this social reform because children aren't suppose to do heavy works like mining and working in the factories. Children should be learning in school instead of working long hour
ReplyDeletei agree with you that children shouldnt carry heavy work like mining and the dangerous work in the factories,
Deletei would be against it because there were many poor family the children need to support them. They need all the money the children brings. If the children won't able to work then the family will lost supports and they have to work more since now they have to take care of the children. So it can have bad affect on the poor families.

ReplyDeleteI would be against it, because the family needs every penny child earn. But if the children keep working in the factories, their body will be sickness. I would say sometime at work, sometime learning.

I agree with you that children can work for part of time and go to school for part of time .
DeleteI would for this social reform . First of all , children cannot go to school because of this and cannot get education . Also Heavy works can cause physical harm . This might lead to disease or even death . Children who work cannot have childhood . They cannot play or communicate like others .
ReplyDeletei would be with it because if the child stops working it would affect his family but, if he takes his education seriously he would have earned a lot more than if he was to stay in the factory.this would benefit him and his family., the only bad effect is that his family would have to work harder .
ReplyDeletei will agree it because the children should get education and playing as they should have .
ReplyDeleteIan 813: I would be against social reforms because working is the only way I could help out my family with our money situation.
ReplyDeleteIf I am eight years old, working in a hat factory and one day i hear that some people are trying to stop children from doing factory work. They think that children should be at school or playing ,i will be against this social reform becaues my family need money that i earn if i didn't go to the factory and work, my family will lose a income and parent will have to work more time to support family.
ReplyDeleteI will for this because child labor can lead physical and mental problem. They can't learn what they should learn during the age that they were in. Child have right to learn during their age.~~~(813 Na Zheng)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mr jason jogensen , that child labor is not fair to a 8 years old child. Their dad should work for them and they should go to school and build their self.
DeleteIf I am a eight year old, working in a hat factory then I will be against this because that my family need every thing I take back home to help them live also if I don't go to work then my family can be staving if I don't have money to give to my family
ReplyDeleteonly if they can make it affordable to give regular workers more pay because then i can't support my family and then we might starve or get sick and have no money to fix it.
ReplyDeletei would be aganist this social reform because my family needs every penny that i earn so if they ban children from working then the income that my family gets would decrease and its possible that i can and increase since am an exiperances at sewing
ReplyDelete(seewing zheng) I would be for this reform because i want to know stuff that my family doesnt so i can help them. children are the tool to increase the population.but if u dont let them go to school and live a healthy life the population might decrease. because the factories can cause injuries to the children or even death. So even if we know what was to happen to them we should help make their life better.
ReplyDeletei wouldn't be againts this reform because if my family dont know anything than ill be ablew totell them. also children are the thing that will get our population.
