When World War One started in 1914, most Americans wanted no part in the war. Neutralism- a policy to not get involved with either side of a dispute- was an important part of United States foreign policy ( how we deal with and treat other countries) at the time. We took care of business in our own hemisphere, period. The United States eventual entry into the war forever changed our foreign policy. We were no longer a country that minded it's own business; we were a world power that looked out for the rest of the world.

If the US is powerful enough then they could go back that way, because they can deal with issues themself. However if they're not, then they should not because they will need help from others.

I think that they should go back to their ways of neutralism. This way not a lot of people go to war and many citizens will be safe. DeleteMy opinion on the policy neutralism is a good thing. I believe that it beneficial because if we do not pick a side thus we are not an enemy of anyone. We mid our own business so we do not get into a huge depute that can turn into years of suffering. Even though it is a good thing i think that we USA should not go back to this policy. This is because that the USA is now a huge power house thus it keeps the other countries in peace usually. We should try to fix problems now because they can cause big threats to us so we should get into a side a fight. In personal i feel that the policy should not be used unless there is a big threat to you or a loved one. I think we should be mindful of our actions but also be vigilant for a problem. we should mind our own business when the problem is not ours nor against our family/ friends. However we should get involved if the problem is bug such as a waging war or a fight outside.

Not being involved in other countries problems makes it easier for the country to fix its own problems and having no opinion in any of wars that are going on between other countries prevents them from having to fight in it and risk their people. ReplyDeleteI believe that the US should have kept the neutralism policy. Especially at this point in time, when all of the eastern hemisphere(Asia,Europe) is fighting. This policy would be really helpful to keep their people safe. No-one asked them to to go to this war, they should have minded their own business. I think that neutralism is a good idea when a country is still in develop process and doesn't have much power, involve in any conflict can hurt their benefits. In addition, even if it is a powerful nation, manage too many conflicts wouldn't also be a good thing. For example, today many nations and ethnic groups hated the United States due to its policy of involving in every conflicts around the World. However, if a nation just stays out of every conflicts that it could or should be involved, other countries would just consider that it doesn't get alone with any one of them and eventually set it as their enemy. For example , staying neutral can be the most consistent way to avoid unreasonable war and damages to their country. However, if u stay neutral when a close or a country that has a very important business with your country and they're in war. But you wanted to stay neutral which can causes more consequences. The policy of neutralism is a good idea. Instead of going to war with every country, its a good a idea to save more lives rater than risk everyone's lives in a war. I think that they should go back to their ways of neutralism. This way not a lot of people go to war and many citizens will be safe. Some people think that it is better to stay out of other's business and some want to help. The advantages that you can get from neutralism is alliances. You can gain enemies as a disadvantage if you take the risk to get into other people's business. Neutralism also effects my life too. For example if one of my close friends are a victim of being bullied, i would stand up for them, i wouldn't let my friend get bullied.
