Railroads and Native Americans

There were many wars between the U.S. government and the Plains Indians. How might a railroad worker have experienced these conflicts?

  1. The railroad workers might experience these conflicts because they might have worked with the U.S. of the plains indians and the war might have been too dangerous so they left and became a railroad worker

    1. That is a good thought because they had civil war going on and they might be attacked by Native Americans losing more people from their crew

  4. Railroad workers may have been attacked while building railroads because they never liked the Americans things. So bringing a giant iron train into the west that would make the Natives upset and have fear.

    1. it would scare the natives but wouldnt they run into trouble to if the natives were to break the tracks in which the train is suppose to be on?

  5. During these wars, the workers might be building the transportation for the supplies to travel around the country so they might get hurt while be in the battlefield.

  7. There were many wars between the U.S. government and the Plains Indians. When a railroad worker might have experienced these conflicts it would slow down the railroad construction.(Just a question, I forgot and turns out everyone at my table forgot as well, when did the Transcontinental Railroad finish construction?)

  8. A railroad worker might have experienced these conflicts as horrifying because not only are they going to be right in the middle of it, but they're going to have to fight off the Native Americans because, first of all, they don't don't even want the "Iron Horses" on their land and now that they're in a war with the U.S. Government they're probably going to attack harder than ever.

  9. In my opinion, I think a worker experiences a hard time to build the railroad. Also,
the worker experiences scare and brave because, the worker had to work and
fight to the war to save their land.

    1. I agree that the speed of the construction was affected because railroad workers needed to deal with all those fights.

  14. A railroad worker have experienced these conflicts by having a hard time to build or to complete this huge project because of the many things that have happen during this time. For example the war between the Indians and those Indians could destroy the railroad and cause the workers to rebuild it.

  15. The railroad worker might have to stop the train at half way, and the train might be destroyed.

  16. the railroad workers that are working to build a track to the west would be risking their lives just to build a railroad. the railroad also might be destroyed by the natives which leads to loss of people but no railroad to the west.with this in mind it lead to wars with the U.S. and the natives.

  17. The wars between Plains Indians and the U.S. government slowed the process of constructing railroad. The railroad workers must hve felt tired because they need to build and fight at the same time.

  23. there were fights between the two sides because the railroad was being built on their land and was not asked for permission. this created war because no country has the right to take over other territories without permission. workers might have felt bad and angry because they had to fight back the native Americans and when the native americanss did something wrong they would have to work and fix it

  40. A railroad worker can have a harsh time working on railroad because of the affect of te war. This can cause stress and other thing that can lead to can't fouce on their work.

  41. A railroad worker might experienced these conflicts, which occured between the U.S government and American Indians in a general direct way. Let's pretend you are one of the railroad workers who build part of the Transcontinental Railroad from East to West, while you building the railroad there're sudden attacks from mutinous American Indians who oppose the idea of railroad. It had postponed the process of railroad. In addition, workers could get injuries. Undoubtly, workers might get tired and scared because they need to build and defeat attacks from American Indians at the same time.

  42. A railroad worker might have experienced these conflicts because building railroads does take up a lot of space and land so the Indians might not like this.In addition, of having a conflict with us government railroad workers are now getting on their problems because it getting even harder for them to find a permanent home to live

  43. When a railroad worker was working on the construction ,indians might come up to them and attack them .
